Te Papa, National Services Te Paerangi Travel Subsidy Grant
We are pleased to be partnering with Te Papa, National Services Te Paerangi (NSTP) to make this travel subsidy available to support iwi, whaanau and hapuu travelling to attend the Indigenous Mapping Waananga in Hamilton in May 2017.
NSTP recognises that this Waananga supports iwi, hapuu and whaanau to access and gain international and indigenous training, skills and expertise towards the collection, preservation and presentation of korero tuku iho that supports and strengthens cultural identity and aspirations.
How much funding can I apply for?
You can apply for up to $300 including GST
Who can apply?
To be eligible for this grant, your organization must represent a legally constituted, non-profit organization such as an incorporated society or a charitable trust.
Your organization can apply for this travel subsidy grant three times each financial year (1 July – 30 June). If your organization hasn’t already applied for this grant this FY, then three people in your organization can access this fund to support their travel expenses to attend the Waananga.
What expenses will this funding grant support?
- accommodation during the training opportunity
- travel in a car, charged at the current IR mileage rates.
This funding grant does not support:
- retrospective payment of expenses
- registration fees
- overseas travel (see Professional Development Grant)
- food and consumables
- wear and tear
- travel insurance.
How can you apply for this funding grant?
You will need to complete the application form and send it to the NSTP team at Te Papa by Sunday 30 April 2017. Attached is the NSTP Travel Subsidy Grant application form which has been prepared to support travel expenses for this Waananga. Please ensure you send the required supporting documentation with your application form i.e. proof of your organization’s legal status, an invoice or estimate of your travel costs up to $300 to:

NSTP will contact you with the outcome of your application within 10 working days of receipt. Note: The funding pool is limited and applications will be processed on a first in first serve basis. All decisions made by the assessment panel are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Payment of an approved grant
NSTP will pay your approved Travel Subsidy Grant upon receipt of your invoice and supporting receipts. NSTP requires an invoice from your organization and are unable to pay travel agencies or other suppliers directly.
As a grant recipient, you are required to acknowledge the support received from National Services Te Paerangi (NSTP) in some form, for example, in your organization’s newsletter or website. A logo and usage guidelines can be provided on request.
